The first Congress on Reversing the Obesity Epidemic is taking place in Greece and focusing on innovation and interaction with the public. The Congress is organized by the Alliance against Obesity (Action4Obesity) and supported by the Alliance’s network of 28 health professional and other associations.
We are delighted to invite you to a 3-day congress, that consists of two parts: a High-Level Scientific Programme on October 21-22 and an Interactive Exhibition titled “Be in Control of Your Weight!” on October 22-23.
The focus of this 2-day event will be the discussion of policies, strategies and best practices for tackling obesity, further highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary and multisectoral approach. The scientific programme will involve national and local governmental bodies; policymakers; representatives of the private sector; the academia; and healthcare professionals and other scientists with an interest in halting the rise of obesity.
We extend the invitation to the public:
The Scientific Congress will host health professionals, dietitians and nutritionists, health policy and health economics experts, representatives of the national and local government to discuss the following topics:
- Obesity as a global public health challenge - Managing obesity in children and adults
- National programmes for fighting obesity - Prerequisites for the effective management of obesity - Socioeconomic impact of obesity
- Technology and obesity management - Promotion of healthy lifestyle choices - Quality of life, mental health and stigma
